The BF wants to do WHAT?!?!

Yesterday, the BF picked me up and was excitingly talking about a documentary he just watched called "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead". The jist of it was that the documentee chronicled his discovery of juicing and having a diet consisting primarily of fruits and vegetables and that human's didn't need to have mass amounts of protein to survive.

So has he was driving, he looked over to me when we were parked, dead in the eye and says "let's do this."

Me: "what? you mean "you" right?"

BF: "no, US! It would be good for us to try it out"

Me: "I need my meat and carbs! I will diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiie"

BF:"you won't die, that's what all the people in the documentary said they couldn't do it either and that they won't have energy. Just think outside the norm"

Me: "..........let me think about this"

So we began to debate about the pros and cons - me, more on the cons of no protein and delicious carbs and my selfish desire to devour every delectable thing on earth.

BF: "how about we do it for 2 weeks?"

Me: "Just 2 weeks?... starting now??"

BF:"Let's do it after you get back from LA, it'll give you a week to eat what you want in LA, then come back to do it seriously for 2 weeks"

Me: "..........ok.... Just 2 weeks though"

BF: "yes!! sure... just 2 weeks... or we can do it a couple of times a week"

Me: "don't push your luck babe.."

So that's what I am committed to after I get back from LA, August 10, 2016. I did tell him that I have to cheat one evening due to my Grandpa's Bday dinner (usually chinese restaurant), so Aug 10 to Aug 23 is when I start my hippie vegetarian diet. Oh lawwwd, what did I get myself into..

10 day mini challenge Day 4,5,6

Dang, this always happens to me. Life just gets way to busy to blog. And i cheated.
A LOT. Heres the crack down:

Day 4 Thursday July 28:

Lunch: beef and rice
Activity: Vball for 2 hours

I felt kind of tired after vball. I think it's because I was the dedicated setter for most of the games. Dang, I do not like setting all the time. I'm more comfortable being a power or offside even though I'm short, I can get the ball over haha

Day 5 Friday July 29

Lunch: The BF surprised me and we went out to Nandos for lunch. Mmmmmm... so gooood.

Activity: Didn't work out, but walked 14,000+ steps @ kdays. I bruised me ankle @ Vball so walking was not comfortable, but it was definitely a lot of walking. Got a foot massage and that felt sooooooooo good. Poor lady who had to touch my tom-smelling feet hahaha.
I also ate: perogies, deli manju, fried onion blossom, chicken waffle on a stick....

Day 6 Saturday July 30

Lunch: I don't remember what I ate for lunch.. a bag of cheesies?

Activity: zero. Went to Cau's house warming, ate bbq, mashed potatoes, corn, Roasted pork, played beer pong, banh hoi, etc. Definitely a cheat day, fo sheeezie.

It's happening

Last week I did a solid 5 days of workouts over the lunch hour.

Monday: Kettlebell
Tuesday: Tabata
Wednesday: Zumba
Thursday: Bootcamp
Friday: Barre

The beginning of this week was brutal with kettlebell yesterday. A co-worker and I were in the same class and we exchanged glances during the workout expressing the pain. We both admitted to feeling nauseous afterwards (2 hours after class was over for me). Though it was an ass-kicking sweat, we did enjoy the instructor. Also note to self: eat breakfast every morning before a workout.

Today was a circuit Tabata class. I think I did pretty well. I sort of felt like the instructor saw me doing most of the sets with lots of energy and proper form and maybe thought it was too easy for me. She made a comment: "I noticed you picked the highest step [for the step-ups]." And I joked "and I'm the shortest one." And at the end when we were all told to go back to the one station we hated the most, I went to mountain climbers and she said "did you want sliders?" to which I said "no thanks" as I did my mountain climbers manually. It was just odd that she picked me out a couple times. So I conclude that I did really well and that's the story and I'm sticking to it...!

Tomorrow will be an unintentional rest day for me as I have to run errands during the lunch hour. I might fit in a workout during the evening. I should try, at least.

Overall, I'm feeling myself get stronger and leaner. It's a great feeling and it's happening. Good day!

Bouncing off the walls!

Today, I did Tabata. The instructor wasn't as "inspiring" as last week's, but I managed to get a good sweat in. It was a  good challenge.

Directly after Tabata, I had a very bouncy attitude and got a meeting set-up (last-minute room change) with gusto and it was hilarious. Working out this hard and consistently is having a positive impact on me.

And, I was walking by my co-worker in the office this afternoon and she said I'm looking skinnier (seeing me from behind). I was like "no...." And she said "yes, really!" So that's a good thing!

And...! A co-worker across the hall invited me to join her Rugged Maniacs team in July. I'm looking forward to a new 5km challenge with 25 obstacles and team work!

I'm ready for more exercise - bring it on!
