It's happening

Last week I did a solid 5 days of workouts over the lunch hour.

Monday: Kettlebell
Tuesday: Tabata
Wednesday: Zumba
Thursday: Bootcamp
Friday: Barre

The beginning of this week was brutal with kettlebell yesterday. A co-worker and I were in the same class and we exchanged glances during the workout expressing the pain. We both admitted to feeling nauseous afterwards (2 hours after class was over for me). Though it was an ass-kicking sweat, we did enjoy the instructor. Also note to self: eat breakfast every morning before a workout.

Today was a circuit Tabata class. I think I did pretty well. I sort of felt like the instructor saw me doing most of the sets with lots of energy and proper form and maybe thought it was too easy for me. She made a comment: "I noticed you picked the highest step [for the step-ups]." And I joked "and I'm the shortest one." And at the end when we were all told to go back to the one station we hated the most, I went to mountain climbers and she said "did you want sliders?" to which I said "no thanks" as I did my mountain climbers manually. It was just odd that she picked me out a couple times. So I conclude that I did really well and that's the story and I'm sticking to it...!

Tomorrow will be an unintentional rest day for me as I have to run errands during the lunch hour. I might fit in a workout during the evening. I should try, at least.

Overall, I'm feeling myself get stronger and leaner. It's a great feeling and it's happening. Good day!

Bouncing off the walls!

Today, I did Tabata. The instructor wasn't as "inspiring" as last week's, but I managed to get a good sweat in. It was a  good challenge.

Directly after Tabata, I had a very bouncy attitude and got a meeting set-up (last-minute room change) with gusto and it was hilarious. Working out this hard and consistently is having a positive impact on me.

And, I was walking by my co-worker in the office this afternoon and she said I'm looking skinnier (seeing me from behind). I was like "no...." And she said "yes, really!" So that's a good thing!

And...! A co-worker across the hall invited me to join her Rugged Maniacs team in July. I'm looking forward to a new 5km challenge with 25 obstacles and team work!

I'm ready for more exercise - bring it on!

Week #2 Recap

Monday: Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Tuesday: Tabata

Wednesday: Break (errands over the lunch hour)

Thursday: Bootcamp

Friday: Barre

Saturday: Ice Walking in Grotto Canyon (Canmore)

Sunday: Break

That was a busy week! I managed to eat alright for most of the week including Ratatouille, Lemon Sole/Salmon en Papillote and almond tart on Friday. Then enjoyed Cherry Cola Chicken and Duck Poutine on Saturday and hot pot in the evening. So good but so many calories!

This week already started with dripping sweat during kettlebell. It was a great workout. Looking forward to the rest of the week!

Baby Steps

I'm back at it tonight as my weekend literally involved babies and eating high carb foods.

On Thursday last week, I got in 40 mins of skating again. It was so good for my hips. I'm going to miss doing it as I will be focusing on my 40 days of workouts in noon hour classes.

Tonight, I did a quick Tabata workout which got my heart rate up for a short 12 minutes. But better than nothing, I say! After that, I added Shaun T's butt workout to get myself up to over 15 minutes of exercise for the day.

Baby steps! Wish me luck - I know I'll be in pain this week.

Shake It Off

I am officially registered in a 40-day fitness challenge! I'm really excited to do this. It all begins with a pre-fitness test which will be the foundation for all the progress we make after which we have access to health seminars, nutritionist, personal trainer and free unlimited fitness classes. This is going to be so worth it, especially since my ultimate goal for 2015 is to be healthier physically, mentally and spiritually.

And with that, my workout for today was another enjoyable lunch hour of ice skating at the rink. We even had a nice laugh about the viral video of the cop going off to Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off." And so I've got a new attitude for 2015 to be inspired by. Just shake it off, shake it off!: http://youtu.be/8XFBUM8dMqw

I already look good.

Enough feeling inadequate!

Time to shape up 2015!

I know I already look good. At least, that's what I'm telling myself. If I have a high self esteem, all this working out is just to keep myself healthy and looking more fab throughout the year!

Tonight I did a 30-minute workout to Get Lean. I started all over again at "Beginner" to wean myself back into a more active lifestyle. This is always my favorite workout because it touches on different sets instead of repeated combos of sets. Other than being interrupted by a phone call from my mom during the workout, I give myself a 4 out of 5 stars for pushing as hard as I could.

And if last week counts, I was able to enjoy some ice skating during the lunch hour at work. It was a really good workout for my back and posture and also them hips.
